Your Contribution Counts Campaign, micro-loan selection criteria

March 2, 20180Comments by Suzanne F Stevens - YouMeWe
Your Contribution Counts Campaign, micro-loan selection criteria

For every 25 conscious-contributions™ shared on the YourContributionCounts page,  YouMeWe Group will invest $25 in a woman seeking a micro-loan for business or education through the Kiva.org program. Kiva provides micro-loans that change lives. By lending as little as $25, we can help women around the world create an opportunity for themselves and their communities.

Through participation, conscious-contributors can double your impact.

Micro-loan selection criteria:

  1. A micro-loan is provided to either advance education or expand a business.
  2. The country that is selected for investment is based on where the most campaign participants requested investment.
  3. Is there a micro-loan opportunity available through the Kiva program to invest in the most requested country at the time of 25 conscious-contributions being logged?
  4. YouMeWe will lean toward investing in a woman’s education or business, because:
    • The YouMeWe Foundation supports women in tertiary education, with the hopes of equalizing female representation in entrepreneurial and leadership roles.
    • Women also lead their communities and building strong families.
    • On average, women reinvest 80% of their income in the wellbeing of their children.
    • When investing in education, YouMeWe will seek individuals who are primarily seeking tertiary education – YouMeWe Group believes in investing in leaders. Our interviews with pioneering African women on WisdomExchnageTV.com also suggest the massive impact one woman with a vision and determination can have on an entire community.

6. When investing in a business, YouMeWe Group will lean toward women’s groups requesting the investment.

  • When a group of women is working together, they support each other in the success of her business, and in repayment of the loan.
  • Women Weaving, YouMeWe GroupIn rural communities where women often do not have collateral to secure the loan, each borrower guarantees the loan, promoting group empowerment and collaboration – two values of the YouMeWe Group and Movement.
  • Focus on groups that are creating a business that will offer opportunities for the community, or for future expansion. Groups that manufacture, or grow have the best growth potential and will possibly employ more people, providing for more families.

  1. When a country to invest in is not obvious amongst the contributors to the campaign, YouMeWe Group will highly weight countries where there are challenges receiving loans through traditional methods.
  2. Lastly, the on the ground Kiva loan partners will be assessed. So YouMeWe can continue to reinvest in other individuals and communities, the below criteria will be evaluated:
    • Field Partner risk rating: 3 or better
    • Delinquency rate
    • Loans at risk rate
    • Default rate
    • Repayment schedule

For campaign participants, all you need to do is log your contributions, YouMeWe Group will take care of
the research and the micro-loan.

To learn more about how to make your contributions count – twice, visit the YourContributionCount Campaign page, and log your contribution, so we can collectively weave the world together one conscious-contribution™ at a time.

🔥 From Trauma to Transformation: Redefining #Me 🔥 From Trauma to Transformation: Redefining #MentalHealth & Healing 🔥

Meet Peggy Shaughnessy, Founder of Whitepath Consulting
A leader in mental health advocacy, Indigenous healing, and systemic change— Peggy’s mission is connecting the disconnected.

Peggy’s story isn’t just about personal resilience—it’s about challenging the systems that fail society’s most vulnerable. From witnessing trauma firsthand to working in federal prisons, she saw how mental health struggles, addiction, and systemic racism trap individuals in cycles of suffering. But instead of accepting the status quo, she redefined intervention—shifting from reactive to proactive healing.

💡 The Lightbulb Moment?
Peggy realized that our approach to mental health is broken. Society focuses on treating behaviors rather than understanding why people struggle in the first place. This led her to develop The Four-Room Theory—a daily practice of checking in on the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual self—helping individuals break cycles of trauma before they escalate.

🌍 The Larger Impact?
Peggy isn’t just advocating for mental health awareness—she’s calling for a societal shift in how we address mental wellness, addiction, and incarceration. Her work with remote communities ensures lasting, self-sustaining solutions that empower individuals long after she’s gone.

💭 What if we stopped punishing people for struggling and started equipping them to heal?

Meet Amy Tung, Founder of I AM LOVE PROJECT INC.

A jewelry social enterprise that does more than shine—it transforms lives.
Amy’s journey wasn’t a straight path. From being trapped in societal expectations, an unfulfilling marriage, and financial instability, she fought her way to independence—leading with love, resilience, and purpose.

But she didn’t stop at transforming her own life. Through I AM LOVE PROJECT INC., Amy empowers women facing barriers to employment—providing economic opportunities, fair wages, and a path toward self-sufficiency. Her initiative helps women rebuild after mental health struggles, addiction, or transitional life phases.

🌍 The Larger Impact?
Amy is challenging how businesses define success—beyond profit, prioritizing employment for those who need it most. She calls on other businesses to do the same—invest in people, uplift communities, and create sustainable opportunities.

💡 The Lightbulb Moment?

“I realized that I could either stay trapped in a life that didn’t serve me, or create one that did. I chose love—and that choice keeps multiplying.”

Amy’s journey proves that when women lead with love, they don’t just transform their own lives—they make waves that create ripples of empowerment across communities.

She had no shortage of words. As an over-communicator, she could fill the space, share the message, and keep the conversation going. But was she truly connecting?

Her goal wasn’t just to speak—it was to inspire. To engage volunteers in a way that made them feel seen, valued, and motivated to take action. But something was missing.

💡 That’s where we focused.
What started as a need to refine her storytelling became a deep dive into mastering presence, persuasion, and impact.

Through breakthrough coaching, presentation training, and leadership development, she learned how to:

✅ Present authentically and persuasively.
✅ Lead meetings with confidence and focus.
✅ Articulate her vision with clarity and conviction.
✅ Inspire others—not just with words, but with presence and purpose.

🚀 The transformation? Unshakable.

Healing Isn’t Just Science—It’s Connection. Healing Isn’t Just Science—It’s Connection.

Mental health isn’t just about treatment plans and coping strategies. It’s about relationships.

That’s what @natashaahalliday Halliday, therapist, speaker, and comedian, realized early in her career. While others focused on rigid therapeutic models, she built a relational approach—one that puts human connection at the heart of healing.

Because for young people, it’s not always about what you say.

It’s about who shows up for them.

🔥 After 20+ years in mental health—working in hospitals, youth programs, and now private practice—Natasha helps people:

✅ Feel seen, heard, and valued
✅ Break through mental health stigma
✅ Laugh when they need it most

💡 Because sometimes, the best therapy isn’t just talking—it’s truly being present.

🎙️ On this episode of YouMeWe Amplified, we explore:

🔹 Why mental health work is about relationships, not just research
🔹 How laughter can be a powerful tool for healing
🔹 The importance of showing up authentically in youth mental health

Exposing Modern Slavery in the Hospitality Industr Exposing Modern Slavery in the Hospitality Industry—One Meeting at a Time

💡 What if your next business trip, conference, or hotel stay was unknowingly fueling human trafficking?

On YouMeWe Amplified, we’re diving deep into a conversation that will leave you rethinking the hospitality and travel industries.

Sandy Biback, Founder of Meeting Professionals Against Human Trafficking (MPAHT), didn’t set out to fight modern slavery. But after witnessing human trafficking firsthand during her travels, she couldn’t ignore what she saw. What started as awareness in 2017 has since evolved into a movement that’s educating and mobilizing professionals in the hospitality and events industry to recognize and prevent human trafficking.

🌍 The Reality: More people are enslaved today than at any other point in history. From sex trafficking in hotels to indentured labor in the supply chain, the hospitality industry plays an undeniable role—whether they realize it or not.

🚨 The Wake-Up Call: “I came home from Cambodia, looked into human trafficking, and realized—this isn’t just happening abroad. It’s happening right here, in my own city, around the corner from where I live.”

💥 The Bigger Impact: MPAHT is training hotel staff, event planners, and travel professionals to be the front line of defense in identifying and stopping human trafficking. Because awareness isn’t enough—action is what saves lives.
Listen in as we discuss:

✔️ The hidden world of modern slavery and how it thrives in the hospitality industry
✔️ How YOU can help disrupt trafficking—whether you’re an event planner, traveler, or business leader
✔️ Why ethical business practices in tourism and events are no longer optional.

🎧 Tune in NOW to uncover what the industry doesn’t want you to see—and how we can change it. https://podcast.youmewe.ca/sandy-biback-professionals-against-human-trafficking/

🩺 Redesigning Home Care—Because No One Should 🩺 Redesigning Home Care—Because No One Should Have to Choose Between Care & Survival

💰 Imagine taking care of someone’s aging parent, providing medication, dressing wounds, and ensuring their dignity… for minimum wage.

That’s the reality for home care workers—the backbone of elder and disability care—who often can’t afford to feed their own families.

For @Chenny Xia, CEO & Co-founder of GotCare, this wasn’t just an industry flaw. It was a human rights issue.

🚨 40% turnover in home care workers
🛑 Thousands waiting for essential care
📉 A system failing both caregivers & patients

🔥 So, she redesigned it.
✅ Using technology to cut costs by 30%—and pay caregivers a living wage
✅ Reducing worker turnover = better care, stronger relationships
✅ 15,000+ home care workers registered to work with GotCare
Stability in caregiving starts with stability in income. When home care workers are paid fairly, patients get better, more consistent care.

🌍 Impact: A living wage isn’t just about the worker—it’s about the health of our communities. By prioritizing people over profit, GotCare is proving that paying fairly isn’t just ethical, it’s sustainable.

🎙️ On this episode of YouMeWe Amplified, we dive into:
🔹 Why home care is still stuck in a century-old model
🔹 How investing in caregivers transforms patient outcomes
🔹 The future of decentralized, equitable home care

Few things can warm your heart more when someone s Few things can warm your heart more when someone shares that you made a difference. Especially on Valentine’s Day!

🔥 Stuck. Isolated. Spiraling. 🔥

She had done all the right things—built a solid career, put in the work, checked the boxes. But something was missing. Fulfillment? Meaning? Maybe just a job that didn’t drain the life out of her.

The more she searched, the more she shrank into isolation—questioning, overanalyzing, stuck in a relentless loop of wallow, relive, repeat. Every tough conversation left an imprint. Every decision felt hijacked by emotions. And every day, the weight of "not enough" grew heavier.

She tried shaking it off. Pushing through. Ignoring the voice that whispered, You’re stuck.

💡 But what if she could take back control—without shutting off her emotions?
That’s where we started. Together, we navigated those tough conversations—not by avoiding them, but by owning them. She learned to feel her emotions without letting them dictate her choices. To sit in discomfort without spiraling. To reclaim her narrative without drowning in it.

Now? She stands taller. Moves forward without the emotional whiplash. And when challenges hit, she doesn't break—she bends, recalibrates, and chooses her next step with clarity and power.

Her words?
✨ “I am grateful every single day for the work we did as it has made me stronger than I first realized.” ✨

This is the shift from stuck to unstoppable.

💬 Feeling trapped in your own loop? DM me “YouMeWe” and let’s break through together.
